ICMPD visits the Regional Centre for Social Policy

We had the pleasure of meeting with representatives of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD

ICMPD has launched a new project aimed at supporting Ukrainian migration and consular administration by strengthening the capacity of national authorities to ensure safe international mobility for Ukrainian citizens, including preparations for sustainable return. This involves the establishment of consultation points for Ukrainian citizens under temporary protection in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany.

We discussed regional cooperation and the establishment of a consultation point in Gdańsk. During its several-day stay in Pomerania, ICMPD took part in a number of meetings with various stakeholders in order to identify synergies and complementarities in the areas and services available to Ukrainian citizens under temporary protection in Poland. This included meetings with the Consul General of Ukraine in Gdańsk from the Consulate of Ukraine in Gdańsk (Консульство України в Гданську), as well as with Ms Karolina Stubińska, President of the Immigrants Support Centre, who also participated in today’s highly substantive meeting.

The Pomeranian Voivodeship Office was represented by Mr Roman Słowiński, Deputy Director of the Department of Security and Crisis Management, who presented the principles for financing tasks from the Aid Fund, administered by the Pomeranian Voivode.

We will keep you informed about the development of this cooperation on an ongoing basis, but it is shaping up very promisingly.
