We begin 2026 with a brief statistical summary of the situation of foreigners in Poland and the Pomeranian Voivodeship in the past year.
According to data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS), as of the last day of June 2025, 1,099,500 foreigners were working in Poland, an increase of 6.5% compared to June 2024. The largest group of foreign workers were Ukrainian citizens, numbering 735,100, which accounted for 66.9% of all foreigners employed in Poland. In the Pomeranian Voivodeship, over 78,000 foreigners were working.
According to statistics from 9 December 2025 (dane.gov.pl), the number of applications for foreigner status for Ukrainians related to the conflict in Ukraine amounted to 2,033,290 in Poland, including 136,541 in the Pomeranian Voivodeship.
Last year, more than 2,000 people received support through the Pomorskie WELCOME Center project, including information and advisory services, legal and psychological support, and Polish language courses.
