POMORSKIE WELCOME CENTER

The aim of the project is to create an effective system for supporting the integration of foreigners in the Pomeranian Voivodeship through the establishment of Foreigners Integration Centres (FICs), as well as by enhancing the intercultural competences of public administration employees and increasing awareness of cultural diversity within the host society. This will enable more effective inclusion of migrants into the regional community.

The dominant target group of the project consists of people from Ukraine, both those who arrived before and after the outbreak of the full-scale war in February 2022. This does not mean, however, that integration activities are directed exclusively at Ukrainian citizens. In the Pomeranian Voivodeship, an increasing number of people from other countries are taking up employment, including Belarus, Russia and Georgia, as well as Bangladesh, Colombia and India.

  • Thanks to the project activities, foreigners will receive the necessary support for adaptation and integration, which will translate into their better functioning within Polish society. In turn, the host society will gain greater awareness and understanding of cultural diversity, which is key to building open and integrated communities.
  • The long-term effects of the project will be visible in both the social and economic dimensions, contributing to the creation of a harmonious, safe and just society.
