We invite you to the conference entitled Challenges of Social Integration. Housing as an Essential Element in Building Intercultural Societies, which will take place on June 15, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Round Hall of the Marshal’s Office of the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Gdańsk, ul. Okopowa 21/27.
Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine forced millions of Ukrainian women and men to leave their homeland. European regions and cities provided the first line of support to refugees. Almost immediately, solutions aimed at protecting our neighbors were implemented, offering them safe refuge.
One year later, regions and local administrations are facing growing concerns in many areas, including how to continue providing high-quality support that respects human dignity and human rights, as well as how to find sustainable and long-term housing solutions. These concerns are part of a broader housing crisis currently affecting Europe as a whole, where an increasing number of people are at risk of homelessness.
With the aim of supporting regions, the Assembly of European Regions, in cooperation with the Regional Centre for Social Policy of the Marshal’s Office of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, is organizing the conference entitled Challenges of Social Integration. Housing as an Essential Element in Building Intercultural Societies. The conference will take place on June 15, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Round Hall of the Marshal’s Office of the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Gdańsk, ul. Okopowa 21/27.
The main objective of the event will be to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges related to the housing sector in the context of the war in Ukraine, as well as to reflect on how housing-related models can be integrated into current and future regional and local strategies.
The event will bring together international and regional experts, decision-makers, stakeholders, and representatives of public administration working both in the field of social integration and spatial planning.
Interpretation will be provided: Polish–English and English–Polish.
