The Pomeranian Council for Regional Migration Policy has officially begun its work.
The Pomeranian Council for Regional Migration Policy is composed of representatives of departments of the Marshal’s Office of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, organizational units of the Self-Government of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, representatives of local government units, government administration, academic communities, non-governmental organizations, including international ones, involved in the implementation of integration activities, as well as other stakeholders in migration policy.
The most important task for the members of the Council during the upcoming term will be the identification of challenges related to the implementation of activities aimed at the systemic inclusion of migrants, as well as the analysis of the needs of local government units and non-governmental organizations related to migrant integration in the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The role of Chair of the Pomeranian Council for Regional Migration Policy has been assumed by Agnieszka Kapała-Sokalska, Member of the Board of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, while the position of Vice-Chair is held by Agnieszka Zabłocka, Deputy Director of the Regional Center for Social Policy of the Marshal’s Office of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.
During the first meeting of the Council’s current term, discussions focused primarily on organizational matters and action plans for the coming months.
We also summarized the series of co-creation meetings for the strategic plan being developed under the EU-BELONG project: An Intercultural Approach to Migrant Integration in European Regions.
(The EU-BELONG project is a large-scale initiative implemented by the Assembly of European Regions (AER) in partnership with European regions from Italy, Germany, Austria, Ireland, Romania, and Spain. Polish regions are represented by Greater Poland and Pomerania. The project is co-financed by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund of the European Union).
