SCARED BUT CURIOUS – a sense-making intercultural language workshop 📅 November 7, 2025 (3:00–8:00 PM) 📍 Neighbourhood Club Café Albert, ul. Waryńskiego 21, Gdańsk Wrzeszcz 🔔 Limited number of places! 📧 Register: cafealbert.gda@tpba.pl
🤝 A meeting where language becomes a bridge, not a barrier.
For migrants, migrant women and men, and residents of Pomerania—for everyone who wants to talk, understand, and stay connected.
🟡 For many of us, a foreign language is associated with stress, judgment, and fear.
🟡 For others, it is a path to a new life, connection, and belonging.
🟡 We need a lived experience of language to feel that it truly connects rather than divides.
‼️ PLEASE NOTE: the meeting will be conducted in English.
You don’t have to speak perfectly.
Curiosity is enough—the rest will come naturally.
Because language is not a test, but an art of being together.
During the workshop you will:
✨ look at communication from an intercultural perspective—more human, less technical
🌿 discover what really blocks conversation and how to overcome it
❤️ experience an authentic intercultural encounter
You can expect 5 hours of shared experience, genuine relationship-building meetings, and conversations in a friendly, safe space.
About the facilitator:
Patrycja Duszyńska – a trained philologist with 16 years of experience in educational work. She works as a translator and combines professional expertise with empathy and curiosity about others. She participates in Living Library projects. Her mission is to quiet perfectionism, develop language resourcefulness, and strengthen trust in one’s own talents, resources, and superpowers.
The meeting is delivered as part of the “Pomorskie WELCOME Center” project, co-financed by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) 2021–2027.
