The first year of the Pomorskie Welcome Center project has come to an end!

The year 2025 was a period of intensive activity aimed at the integration of foreigners and further strengthening the role of the Pomeranian Voivodeship as a place that develops intercultural competences in both administration and society. Over the past 12 months, two Foreigners’ Integration Centers were established in the region – in Gdańsk and Słupsk – providing support to migrants in navigating their new social and professional environments. It was also a time of numerous informational meetings, workshops, and integration events, offering practical knowledge on residency legalization, the labor market, and daily life in Poland, as well as fostering relationships and a sense of belonging to the local community.

In 2025, meetings of the Pomeranian Council for Regional Migration Policy took place, serving as an important platform for dialogue and cooperation in shaping a coherent regional migration policy. A key event was the conference “Disinformation, Social Sentiments and Migration – Where Does the Truth Lie?”, focused on the challenges of disinformation and building accurate narratives around migration. As part of educational activities, a webinar titled “Latin America – Between Diversity and Structural Violence” was also organized, exploring the causes of migration from this region and the growing number of its residents coming to Poland and the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Additionally, a series of training sessions was launched to strengthen the competences of the Pomeranian Welcome Center staff.

With gratitude to our partners and participants, and with renewed energy, we close 2025 while preparing for new challenges ahead.

The Pomorskie WELCOME Center project aims to create a friendly and effective support system for the integration of foreigners in the region, while enhancing intercultural competences among public administration staff and increasing awareness of cultural diversity in the host society.
